South Cusco Valley Full Day

Tour Description

For this tour we will pass between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. to collect them from their respective hotels near the square of arms to drive them towards the population of Tipon

This tour is known as the Ruta del Sol, the place has a majestic combination of beautiful natural landscapes, where we can also observe Inca architecture in Tipon, the pre-Incan architecture of the Wari culture in Pikillacta, we will also visit Andahuaylillas which is better known as The “Sistine Chapel of America”, without forgetting its gastronomy of an Andean flavor, that can be liked in Saylla, Huasao, come with us to enjoy this beauty and pleasant excursion.

You will visit the archaeological center of Tipon, Pikillacta, rumi Colca, Huacarpay wetland and the temple of Andahuaylillas, returning to the city between 15:00 hrs. And 15:30 hrs.

Itinerary

1.- Tipon:

It is an archaeological complex located 18 km from Cusco, which corresponds to the Inca empire in which you can appreciate a spectacular hydraulic system. It was a ceremonial center to the water and of the agricultural production that was very important, soon we will pass to visit to archaeological center of Pikillaqta

2.- Wetland of Huacarpay (panoramic view)

Located 30 kilometers aprox. Southeast of the city, in the province of Quispicanchi. The Lucre-Huacarpay wetland covers an area of 1979 hectares and is composed of four permanent lagoons (Waton, Lucre, Pumaorco, Choquepujio and Huáscar); A seasonal lagoon (Huacarpay-Muyan), two marshes (Una and Pisqonniyoc) and two rivers (Lucre and Huatanay). It is known that this natural system is a source of food and shelter for approximately 108 species of birds during most of the year, some are endemic to the area and others are in danger of extinction.

3.- Pikillacta:

It is located 30 km from Cusco, the pre-Inca archaeological site, where the narrow streets and houses built by the Wari culture are preserved. Where the wonder of the Huacarpay lagoon is observed, it is best known for possessing many varieties of endemic birds that this place houses. Then we will continue with our trip to the Sistine Chapel of Andahuaylillas.

4.- Rumi Qolca (panoramic view)

Rumiqolqa is a Quechua word composed: rumin = stones and qolqa = deposit, which would mean: deposit of stones. The Cover of Rumiqolqa is located in the eastern sector of the pre-Hispanic city of Pikillacta, is accessed by the Cusco-Andahuaylillas road, was one of the main income to the city of Cusco and departure to the Qollasuyo. It is constructed of andesite stone carved and polished, presenting a staggered form on both sides forming three bodies with polished and rectangular rigging. At the top of the covers the water channel leading to Pikillacta is evident. The main cover is associated with the road to the Qollasuyo road network, where spaces or sections of the paved road can be evidenced, which demonstrates the great importance and magnitude of the Inka Qhapaq-anan road network.

5.- Andahuaylillas:

We will visit its famous Church, considered the SIXTH CHAPEL OF AMERICA, in which there is one of the most beautiful examples of colonial art, its altar is bathed with 24 carat gold leaf, mural, Cusqueña school canvases and polychrome ceiling after finishing Our visit will return to the city of Cusco.

Finally we return to the city of Cusco where the end is in the Av: Tullumayo – Wanchaq
